I called for a meeting with the group of numboys going to the ns this year right after the corporate meeting on monday.
I was addressing a few issues with them and at the end of the meeting I told them this.
Treasure the friendship and network they have built over the years at NUM, for I don't think there will be anymore group in the world could provide such a sincere environment for people to build such a solid friendship foundation.
I believe strongly that many of you will still be calling one another after you leave NUM whether temporary or permanently.
This is the kind of company we are talking about. We don't just pride ourselves having cool brands and great products, we are also a brand that projects simplicity and sincerity right up to the way we interact with one another.
Like I always say. I may be the director, I don't need anyone acting infront of me.
So I read one story before I slept just now, I want to share with everyone of you.
Always remember, treasure everything you have here ... Also never give up on believing what you believe, especially what I have been urging you guys to keep ... Be bold to be who you are, believe in the truth and never compromise your philosophy and value in life.
"The Depth Of Friendship"
One could not but be moved by the story of the soldier who asked his officer if he might go out into the "no man's land" between the trenches in World War I to bring in one of his comrades who lay grievously wounded, " You can go," said the officer,"but its not worth it. Your friend is probably killed, and you will throw your own life."
But the man went. Somehow he managed to get to his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder, and bring him back to the trenches. The two of them tumbled in together lay in the trench bottom. The officer looked very tenderly on the would-be-rescuer, and then he said, "I told you it wouldn't be worth it. Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded. "It was worth if, though, sir" he said. "How do you mean, worth it ? I tell you your friend is dead. "Yes, sir,", the boy answered, "but it was worth it, because when I got to him he was still alive, and he said to me "Jim, I knew you'd come."
